THOMAS E. MAILS (1920-2001). Listed artist/illustrator, author and ordained minister. Taught architectural design at Heald College in San Francisco, CA. Mails is noted for his exceptional REALISM in illustrating American Indian life, especially that of the Southwest Indians.

In the book he authored, THE MYSTIC WARRIORS OF THE PLAINS there are 32 full-page color plates plus beautifully illustrated maps, full-page b/w plates and in-text drawings by Mr. Mails. This copy: Doubleday & Co., 1972 is a SIGNED LIMITED EDITION, Signed and numbered by the author on the second free end paper in black fountain pen. It is number 4 of 250, 618pp. The condition is AS NEW, gold-gilt stamped full brown leather with gilt lettering to the spine, all gilt edges, marbled endpapers, in a slipcase with a dark brown leather cover label having gilt lettering (on the slipcase). Although the book itself is in fine condition, the slip case shows VERY MINOR wear.
