SUSAN B. ANTHONY(1820-1906). American social reformer and woman’s suffrage advocate. She attempted to have the 14th Amendment extended to include women (in the vote). In 1869 she co-founded the National Woman Suffrage Association with its president, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, which merged with the AmericanWoman Suffrage Association to create the National American Woman Suffrage Association. Anthony served as president (1892-1900) and honorary president (1900-1906).
