Elizabeth  Taylor ( 1932 –  2011) was a British-American actress. She began acting as a child star with MGM, she became one of the great screen actresses of Hollywood’s Golden Age.  One of the world’s most famous film stars, Taylor was recognized for her acting ability and for her glamorous lifestyle, beauty and distinctive violet eyes.

National Velvet (1944) was her first success. She starred in Father of the Bride (1950),A Place in the Sun (1951), Giant (1956), Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1958), and Suddenly, Last Summer(1959).

She won theAcademy Award for Best Actress for BUtterfield 8 (1960), played the title role in Cleopatra(1963), and married her co-star Richard Burton(twice!).  They appeared together in 11 films, including Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (1966), for which Taylor won a second Academy Award.

She has signed & inscribed a dramatic Vintage 7.5 x 9.5 ” b/w publicity portrait photo from Elephant Walk (1953)   in black sharpie ” To Ray With Good Wishes Elizabeth Taylor Warner 1981″.  At the time of her signing, she was married to Senator John W. Warner.  A highly unusual mulit name signature & one not only difficult to obtain, but scarce in authentic material!  Included is an ORIGINAL article from Antiques & The Arts Weekly- dated Feb. 6, 1998 in which the very same photo, allbeit the original studio portrait, UNSIGNED was estimated at $500/800!  What a handsome collectible from one of the world’s most beautiful women!
