ELIZABETH CADY STANTON (1815-1892). American Suffragist, Author, Historian, and Social Reformer. Organized the first woman’s rights convention in Senaca Falls, NY (1848), effectively launching the WOMAN’S RIGHTS MOVEMENT. Her “radical” views were opposed by both men and (ignorant) women alike. She was aligned with Susan B. Anthony in 1851 and worked with her for the next 40 years. Stanton was elected the first President of the new National American Woman Suffrage Association (1890-1892). She wrote the first three volumes of the six volume History of Woman Suffrage.
