Annalee Thorndike
U.S. businesswoman & Creator of the Internationally Popular Annalee Mobility Dolls
Signed Photograph
ANNALEE THORNDIKE, (1915-2002). U.S. businesswoman. Creator of the internationally popular ANNALEE Mobility dolls. Started out as a chicken farmer, later creating felt dolls with handpainted PIXIE faces in her home. Now almost every U.S. household has (or has seen) her “children”.
A color photo of Annalee with her factory superintendent, Stuart, signed in black marker: “Have a lovely year Annalee ’97″. An EXTREMELY scarce item, as Annalee had been banished from the factory, becoming a semi-recluse, refusing to sign anything but her dolls, when she agreed to (at times not even signing pay checks). Color signed photo is 4″x6″. $75.00
